Third and best edition of this history of Italian art, first published in 1792 in a single volume, covering the history of the Florentine, Sienese, Roman and Neapolitan schools of art , which was expanded in a three volume edition in 1795 to cover the whole of Italy. This six volume is further augmented, and is generally considered the most desirable edition.
